Dear SES Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! We hope you’re enjoying a restful and fun-filled summer. As we prepare for another exciting year of learning, we’d like to share some important updates with you.
Our SES leadership team has been working diligently this summer to get ready for the new school year. We are finalizing class schedules, homeroom assignments, staff placements, and program groupings. Your back-to-school information packet will be mailed out by the end of next week.
For ongoing updates and helpful resources, please visit our Family One-Stop page, which we’ll continue to update throughout the school year. In addition, we will keep sharing weekly updates through our school’s Caregiver Memo. Our bi-weekly SES News, written by students will also continue to provide families with important announcements, highlights, and upcoming events.
As part of some changes this year, The Leahy School (formerly on the 1st and 2nd floors) and Oliver Middle School (on the 3rd floor) have moved into their new buildings for the 2025–2026 school year. Both schools were wonderful neighbors, and we wish them the very best in their new spaces.
We’re excited to welcome Abbott Lawrence Academy to the NCEC building. Abbott is a grades 9–12 high school within the Lawrence Public Schools district. We look forward to building a strong partnership and collaborating with them this year.
We’d also like to express our sincere gratitude to the NCEC maintenance team, who worked tirelessly throughout the summer to prepare the building. Over the break, beautiful new windows were installed at our school, and the team's dedication and hard work made it all possible. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed—thank you, NCEC team!
As in past years, all SES students will receive educational bins containing a laptop and essential school supplies to support their success in the classroom.
If your child has experienced any medical updates—such as a change in medication or an updated physical—please be sure to contact our school nurse as soon as possible.
We are excited to welcome all of our students back on Monday, August 25. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to call our school office. We’re happy to assist.
Enjoy the remaining weeks of summer—we look forward to a wonderful year ahead with you and your children!
With appreciation,
Erik Desmond
Principal
